All colours of love. All colours of music.

AYGYUL is a Vienna-based singer, songwriter, music producer and visual artist making electronic post-pop about connection, identity and the many colours of love. Moving between EDM, R&B, hip-hop and UK garage, she combines bold pop songwriting, intricate electronic production and a voice spanning more than three octaves. Her music moves between physical intensity and emotional vulnerability, creating space for desire, freedom and the full complexity of being human.

Born and raised in Kazan, Tatarstan, AYGYUL grew up at the intersection of Tatar and Eastern European cultures. Classically trained in opera from childhood, she brings powerful vocals and a magnetic stage presence to contemporary pop. Her sound draws on contrasting musical influences, from Eastern melodic scales to club-driven electronic rhythms, while her production is shaped by a deep fascination with sound design and cinematic detail.

At 21, AYGYUL left her established career in Russia to build a life where she could live openly as a queer woman and make music about who she really is. Arriving in Vienna without speaking German or English, she rebuilt her life and career from scratch, teaching herself music production along the way. What began as a search for freedom became a commitment to creating it through her art — and to helping others feel less alone through music. Her work remains connected to LGBTQ+ visibility and community, with authenticity at its core.

AYGYUL’s songwriting is deeply personal. She co-writes her songs with her wife, Pati Avish, beginning with long conversations about what they feel, what they want to understand and what they want to share with the world. Together, they explore love not as a single feeling, but as a force that can overwhelm, protect, nurture and heal. Their songs reach beyond romantic love to explore the connection we seek with others, our bodies, our sexuality, our pain and the parts of ourselves we are still learning to accept.

This vision comes into focus on her debut album, YOU AND I — an album about connection: with another person, with ourselves, and with the possibility of finally feeling at home within ourselves. At its heart is a universal need to be seen, desired, understood and safe. For AYGYUL, music can become a safe space: a place where vulnerability is not weakness, love takes many forms and people can recognise something of themselves in one another.

As a visual artist, AYGYUL builds an entire universe around her music, connecting sound, imagery and atmosphere into one artistic world. The music video for INSIDE, a track from the album, received an Honourable Mention from the jury at the Vienna Shorts Film Festival.

With over 500 performances across national and international stages, AYGYUL has appeared at Vienna Pride, Frequency Festival, Waves Festival, CSD München, Donauinselfest and Kultursommer Wien. In 2023, she won Beat Melange, Vienna’s beat battle, and was selected for the third season of Germany’s Female Producer Collective. She has also collaborated with brands including Ableton, Focusrite, ADAM Audio, Novation and Sequential. Her debut album, YOU AND I, supported by the Austrian Music Fund, will be released on December 11, 2026.

For AYGYUL, refusing to compromise is more than an artistic principle. It is the freedom to be fully herself — and to create music that makes room for others to do the same.

How to say my name

It's Tatar for moon flower, and it's my real name. I was born under a full moon: my mom watched it through the window as she brought me into this world, and named me after it.
